Originally built as the combination passenger/cargo liner 'City of York' in 1953 for the Ellerman Lines, she was purchased in 1971 by the Greek shipping company Karageorgis Lines and completely rebuilt as a luxury car ferry named 'Mediterranean Sky' and served the Ancona-Patras route.

Seen here is how she appeared in the late 80s/early 90s, sporting Karageorgis' signature yellow hull and company name in dark blue letters along her side.
